Make sure you say "Bonjour" every time to everyone you speak to, otherwise you will get a VERY bad response!!
Don’t expect gushing friendliness! The Parisians that we encountered were efficient and reserved.
Having more than school knowledge of French is clearly an advantage when dealing with lower-level officials: metro staff, cloak room attendants, hotel cleaning staff.
Pre-booking restaurants may be an advantage. We avoided dining in overly popular areas.
As for getting around, you could download the Paris Metro App onto your smart phone to enable you to buy electronic tickets for single journeys. We noticed that it was still possible to buy single bus tickets with cash.
Planning what you want to see in Paris and working out the metro / bus routes in advance will save you time and angst.
Uber and Bolt are available in addition to city taxis.

Paris is a wonderful city.
Paris is a wonderful city. It has a lot of history and places to go. They have a very good metro system that can take you places and do a tour by yourself. We did Tootbus which is the Hop on & off bus. We got to see the city on wheels and we went as far as the foot of Eiffel Tower which is great. Too bad I was just there for 2 days. I would definitely come back to this city.

I had just finished a 8-day hiking trip in Normandy and wanted an extra Night in Paris to see a few sites. I was not really interested in museums this trip, so the three items I chose were fine. The Metro is very easy to navigate and very clean. This trip I really wanted to visit the catacombs, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Latin quarter, and again see the eiffel tower. I had also visited the Palace of Versailles at the beginning of my trip, and I highly recommend the palace and gardens!

Trains are best way to get around Paris, taxis are costly. Recommend the boat cruises and dinner cruises. Allow extra time for queues. If booking dinner I'm a fancy or Instagram hotel, ensure to book weeks in advance.

The city was amazing, I was there 25 years ago and enjoyed the history and food but wouldn’t say I loved the city. Now I could live there, the people are so nice, everyone speaks English, the city was clean, I felt safe and our trip was exceptional all the way around!

I lived there for 3 years from 1978-1981.
I lived there for 3 years from 1978-1981. City is under a massive upgrade because of the Olympics. For example, the front of the Opera is under a sheet, Champ de Mars has Plexiglas walls everywhere. In the last 45 years, all the restaurants have become homogenized. All the same 10 dishes, 1/2 a chicken with fries, beef steak with fries, Pig snout with fries. I found Maliga in Spain to have better and more varied dishes. Although I speak French and know Paris well I prefer Spain for the cuisine, weather and people. Half of Paris' population is foreign.
I’ve stayed at this hotel for many years largely due to location but given the amount of money that this place must have generated through the years it has not been reflected in updating the quality of rooms and common areas,It’s 3 star at best but charging 5 star money, We want to support and be loyal to smaller business but this place needs revamping not just patched up .It’s shoddy and disappointing , There really are no excuses for this given the level of quality accommodation you can get in Paris now for a cheaper price,
Hotel was clean. The gentleman checking us in was lovely, made nice conversation and was able to give us a street view room as requested upon booking. The room itself was modern, clean and comfortable. Many people complaining about the size of the room need to remember this is one of the cheapest hotels in Paris, if you want a big room, pay the money for it. We found the room size to be absolutely fine! Montmartre itself is a lovely area, lively, with restaurants & bars open until 2am.
The location was good. It's close to two train stations - one is great to travel from the airport to Paris and is located around 16min from the hotel, another one is great to travel to different cities in France (located around 7min from the hotel). It's only 30 minutes walk to the Louvre, Notre Dame de Paris, Sacré Cœur, and other beautiful sightseeing places in Paris.
The staff at the reception is kind and welcoming.
I appreciated the kettle in the room.
Very cheap Hotel. You get what you pay for. The staff were nice. The room was alright. The bed was good, the bedding was old but clean. We had a sink and wardrobe in the room. There was a view of Paris. Windows were big enough. Lights were bright enough for the whole room. It wasn't too noisy. We stayed on the fourth floor. Like I said, everything is justifiable. For tourists, this may be too shocking. For people used to living in Paris, it is what it is.
Great location, it's near convenience stores, pharmacies, there's even a cinema very close by (if you want to try that out), lots of dining options right outside the hotel. There is great WiFi in the rooms.
It was a small room, but it was warm, clean and comfortable. We only used it to shower and sleep. Not the best looking place, but it was very cheap. The staff were very nice and kind. Would recommend it to people on a budget.
The location of this hotel is excellent. It is on a pedestrian street lined with beautiful food shops. There are two metro stations near by. It's close enough to Saint Lazare and Opera area to walk. The rooms are small but the bed was very comfortable. There was no fridge in the room and no tea/coffee making facilities, but this seems to be common in France. I would definitely return if in Paris again.
All the furniture was so fancy and antique that guests must feel like they're royal of medieval France. The room was very clean, warm, and cozy.
It's far better than any other fancy hotel. The location is also wonderful. Especially, the host is so kind and warmhearted. They are always ready to help their guests not only about stay, but also some regional problems that may happen to the travellers.
I loved how cute the spot was, the location is everything & gives a great Paris French vibe with the opening doors in the room. France is tiny so don't let it fool you but it's definitely comfortable and definitely worth the $! Everything was about 10 minutes from the property not even.. not to mention 5 minutes from any shopping corners you'd like.
Artemisia Montmartre is a cute boutique hotel. The reception is very nice and accommodating. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast is fairly good. The televisions are large and are allow you to download apps, so that you can stream, which is really nice, as the another place I stayed in France only had tv without English subtitles.
We went here for our honeymoon. The staff here was probably the best I have ever experienced at a hotel. So friendly and helpful with everything! The breakfast was also the best I have had in France, and the breakfast room is really cozy and nice. The room was also really nice and the location of course perfect.
In general, the hotel meet our needs. It was clean, staff were friendly and very helpful, breakfast was very good, the metro was nearby, and the quaint hotel restaurant allowed us to conveniently meet over dinner with our partners in France to discuss our program the following day.
Who knows the usual cheaper paris hotels does not expect much- but this one actually brought what it promised in every respect. Nice, helpful staff, clean basic (but every appliance in good working condition, even the window opening, in the) room, with breakfast.
Basically the only redeeming quality of this place was its location, a convenient 7-minute walk away from the Paris Convention Center where we were attending a conference. The breakfast was also decent for Paris/France standards.
good location to see different parts of paris further out of the city centre. nice choice of restaurants near by would recommend Thai Kok. Hotel is quite basic but good for value for money as a cheaper option staying in Paris.
walking distance to almost all important tourist attractions; nice staff, good breakfast in a very nice set up, a bit small but nice; all staff great! rooms a bit small but typical for France and this type of Hotel in Paris
Everything. It was very clean. 25 min away from city centre in metropolitan. Great value for money. It is a cheap place to be in Paris. You have everything you need to cook, besides the stuff members were very nice.
One of the very cheap hotel and very clean and a very environmental place to stay and enjoy your time in Paris. Coffees in the morning tasting very nice and strong.A hotel with a room service of an expensive hotel.
Best choice you could make for a lovely stay in Paris!
Amazing location, super clean and bright rooms, comfortable beds.
Paris France hotel will definitely be my choice for my future getaways in Paris!
Places was super clean and we felt decently safe! not the location you would think of staying in paris but super close to bus stops, metro, trains ect! Quiet at night and classic france during the day!
It was easy getting to the Eurostar from here, £10 taxi. In comparison to other hotels within Paris it was the cheapest I could find. There was a nice balcony in the first room.
